The Extra Mile

When i was still working in Universal Music back in 2005, I had an interesting chat with one of my most respected colleague, Mr. Aldo Sianturi. I asked for a word of wisdom, and this is what he said: “It’s actually really simple. All you need to do is go the extra mile”.

“Go the extra mile”. It didn’t grab me at the time, but later on I realized how precious that piece of advise really is.

“Going the extra mile” means trying harder.
“Going the extra mile” means giving your 100%, even at times when 80% seems enough.
“Going the extra mile” means refusing to settle for “good” when you can be “great”.

That simple advice really helped me. If you haven’t done it, it’s not too late. The extra mile is always there, waiting for you to break free from mediocrity and step up your game.
